Become a Volunteer

Our Volunteer Companion program matches the people we support with enthusiastic Hamilton volunteers.

The people most suited to to this role are interested in other people, are good listeners, are reliable, and have 1-3 hours to commit each week or fortnight. In return you will get to share your interests with others, meet new people and help our organisation enable good lives for the people we support.

We have a diverse range of companion roles available at the moment, including walking buddies, literacy mentors, gardening companion, movie buddy and more. Some of the people we support would simply appreciate a regular visitor at home, while others want to get active in their community and would like a little company or support while they do that.

This is a great role for anyone studying in the health, social services or disability sector. It may also suit retired people, as many of the people we support are more mature.  The timing is really flexible, with daytime, evening and weekend roles available.

If you are interested, please contact Taya on (07) 839 0183 or email on taya.cross "at" for a volunteer application pack.
