About Aspire
Our Story
Established in 1989, in response to the closure of large institutions, with a vision to support people to live independently within their communities.
In 2015, we became Aspire – Community Support, reflecting our growth into a dynamic, forward-thinking service. Today, we offer a range of living options across multiple properties, backed by a diverse and skilled team.
At Aspire, we are committed to delivering individualised support tailored to each person’s needs. Our size and structure allow us to remain agile, responsive, and innovative. We work closely in partnership with the people we support, our dedicated team, and others in the disability sector to achieve meaningful outcomes.
We are excited about the future, especially as the New Zealand disability sector embraces more flexible models of support and funding, and we look forward to continuing to evolve alongside it.

As a not-for-profit organisation, Aspire Community Support is governed by a dedicated Board of Trustees who provide strategic oversight and guide our long-term direction. Their focus is on the ‘big picture’ ensuring our values, vision, and goals remain at the heart of everything we do. We are fortunate to have a board that is deeply committed to our mission and the impact of our work.
To support the board’s responsibilities, we have two specialised committees:
Finance Committee
People, Performance, Quality, Risk & Wellbeing Committee
Our board members bring extensive experience and expertise across a range of sectors, helping to ensure strong governance and leadership.
Aspire also maintains a vital partnership with The HRT Property Holdings Trust, from which we lease some residential housing.
