About Aspire
Our History
Hamilton Residential Trust was formed in 1989, as a response to the closure of big institutions and people being supported to live within the community.
In 2015, we became Aspire - Community Support, and are proud to be a dynamic service with a number of properties, a supported independent living service and a broad range of staff skills and expertise.
As a service we pride ourselves on providing individualized services for the people we support. Our size and approach enables us to be flexible, nimble and adaptable. We work in partnership with people we support, staff and also organizations within the sector.
We are excited to continue to evolve with the introduction of more flexible support and funding in the New Zealand disability sector.

Not-for-profit organisations like Aspire are governed by a board of trustees, who provide strategic direction and think about the ‘big picture’. We are lucky to have a board that thoroughly believes in the work we are doing. Supporting the functions of the board we have two separate committees: Finance and People Performance, Quality & Wellbeing.
Our board members bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role of governing Aspire. View their profiles here.
Aspire – Community Support has a key partnership with The HRT Property Holdings Trust from which it leases property.
